Who we are

The Dev Bench is a practice platform (flashcards, live coding, and hands-on labs) operated by DataCraft Works, LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). This policy explains what we collect and how we handle it.

Your AI key and uploaded materials never reach our servers

The Dev Bench is bring-your-own-key (BYOK). When you add an AI provider API key, it is stored only in your browser’s local storage and sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you chose. It is never transmitted to, logged by, or stored on our servers.

When you generate a deck from your own material, the file is parsed and the text is sent to your chosen AI provider entirely within your browser. The file itself is never uploaded to us. Only the flashcards you explicitly review and choose to save are stored in your account.

What we do store

We store the minimum needed to run your account and track progress:

  • Account details — your email and authentication data, handled by our auth provider (Clerk).
  • Your content — decks and flashcards you save, including any generated from your own materials.
  • Study progress — spaced-repetition schedules, coding attempts, and lab attempts, so your streaks and reviews work.

Service providers we use

We rely on a small set of processors to run the service: Clerk (authentication), Neon (database), and Netlify (hosting). Any AI processing happens between your browser and the AI provider you select — we are not an intermediary in that exchange.

Cookies

We use only the cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your choices

You can remove your AI key from your browser at any time in AI settings, and you can delete decks you’ve saved. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the address below.
